Tuesday October 1st Day 53

7:50 headed to Smithton Lock marker 918.5. Through the lock at 9:20 stopped n washed clothes on an island n walked around, captain of the Teresa L Wood, yelled gave a big thumbs up. Paducah Kentucky at 2:15, met Homer kayaking, he has been doing it for two years, just bouncing around. lunch at Doe’s delicious meatball samwich, couple cold beers on a hot humid 94* day. Walked around, pretty cool place, so many cool murals, and plaques, couldn’t get em all. Did get some bug spray 👍🏻. Set up camp right after I went over a dam!!! Well... they are in the process, but I still went over where it would have been a 30-40’ drop. Im thinking old lock 52, I just saw old lock 51 in Golconda.

Chris Started his trip Saturday August 10th 2019 He finished Friday November 1st 2019 went 1968 miles ended in Venice.  This is the journey of a life time most people will never experience so that’s the reason why I am sharing his trip so the rest of us can get a little taste of his .  He also told me he hopes to encourage a little bit of adventure in everyone, it doesn’t have to be huge, just something that people have thought about doing. He had so many people say “man I want to do this someday” with this trip and his 4 corner trip Go OUT AND DO IT !! He’s what we all should strive to be.  Relaxed and Free!  He’s just a Retire Navy Vet floating down the rivers, meeting cool people and kicking back and having a blast.
