DAY 17


Monday  August 26th 

Floating at 9:35 got to the lock at 11:20 had to wait for the lock, during maintenance they only allow recreational boaters at 12 and 4. got through at 12:30. It started off windy and choppy for a couple hours, then it was good, couldn’t quite get comfortable, not a spectacular day, but it wasn’t the worst. It started raining pretty good, so I set up the hammock at 6:30 got about 23-25 in today. It is 9 and it is still raining good.

Chris Started his trip Saturday August 10th 2019 He finished Friday November 1st 2019 went 1968 miles ended in Venice.  This is the journey of a life time most people will never experience so that’s the reason why I am sharing his trip so the rest of us can get a little taste of his .  He also told me he hopes to encourage a little bit of adventure in everyone, it doesn’t have to be huge, just something that people have thought about doing. He had so many people say “man I want to do this someday” with this trip and his 4 corner trip Go OUT AND DO IT !! He’s what we all should strive to be.  Relaxed and Free!  He’s just a Retire Navy Vet floating down the rivers, meeting cool people and kicking back and having a blast.
